A New Era of Rehabilitation: The Phoenix Suite Opens at Montagu Hospital

We’re proud to share a major milestone for rehabilitation technology in the UK - the official opening of the pioneering Phoenix Suite at Montagu Hospital. This brand-new therapy suite represents a significant investment in advanced neurorehabilitation and marks an exciting step forward for patient care within the NHS.

Ectron is honoured to have played a key role in this incredible development, supplying a full range of innovative solutions to support recovery, independence, and improved outcomes for patients.

At the heart of the Phoenix Suite is the LEXO, the UK’s first installation of this groundbreaking gait training system within the NHS. The LEXO combines robotic-assisted movement with real-time feedback, allowing patients to retrain their gait patterns safely and effectively -  a huge step forward for post-stroke and neurological rehabilitation.

Alongside the LEXO, we’ve also provided a comprehensive Tyrosolution setup, including devices such as Amadeo for hand rehabilitation and Omego Plus for cycling and stepping therapy. Together, these systems create a dynamic, gamified environment that motivates patients while offering clinicians precise, data-driven insights.

The suite also features the Prokin 252 by Tecnobody, delivering detailed balance and posture assessments, and the Fesia Grasp, which uses functional electrical stimulation to support hand movement and functional recovery.

By integrating these technologies, The Phoenix Suite offers one of the most complete rehabilitation solutions within the NHS - empowering clinicians and transforming the patient experience.

Such technology, previously only available privately, allows patients to take part in personalised rehabilitation, while still working closely with specialist therapists.

We’re thrilled to have worked alongside the dedicated teams at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to bring this vision to life. The Phoenix Suite truly embodies the future of neurorehabilitation: technology-led, patient-centred, and full of possibility.

Professor Deb Lowe, Medical Director of the Stroke Association, and Co-chair of the Stroke GIRFT programme, and an Honorary Professor of Stroke Medicine at the University of Central Lancashire, officially opened the facility and said:

“The UK currently has 1.2 million stroke survivors, with numbers expected to almost double in the next decade. Facilities like the Phoenix Therapy Suite are game-changers – giving patients the chance not just to survive stroke, but to thrive and recover more fully.”

Zara Jones, Deputy Chief Executive at DBTH, said:

“The Phoenix Therapy Suite is a perfect example of our new Trust strategy, Healthier Together, delivering exceptional care for all. It shows how technology can support recovery while empowering people to take control of their health and future.”

The Phoenix Therapy Suite is located within the Fred and Ann Green Rehabilitation Centre at Montagu Hospital. If you would like more information about the center and the devices provided, you can speak to our team here:

Tees Neuro Therapy Training: A New Era in Neurological Rehabilitation & Strength Conditioning Since relocating to the newly expanded 4,000 sq. ft. facility, Tees Neuro Physiotherapy are launching a groundbreaking service: Tees Neuro Therapy Training . This innovative program introduces a new dimension to neurological rehabilitation by integrating Medical Training Therapy (MTT)—an approach that emphasizes strength and conditioning to complement traditional neurological physiotherapy. What Is Tees Neuro Therapy Training? Tees Neuro Therapy Training is designed for individuals recovering from neurological conditions who are ready to take their rehab to the next level—or maintain their health and mobility long-term. It’s ideal for patients who want to build upon the gains they’ve made in physiotherapy or those who are transitioning into more independent exercise but still need specialist support. At the heart of this service will be the UK's first centre to offer a suite of Tyromotion MTT devices, (including the LEXO , Amadeo , Myro and Tyrostation ) engineered for disabled access and neuro-rehab settings. These state-of-the-art tools offer a safe, adaptive, and empowering way to train—an option that simply isn’t available in standard gyms. They will be the first in the UK to house this kit which uniquely works by using compressed air for strength training rather than weights. An absolute game changer for exercise!

We are so pleased to see our Tecnobody Solution at the neuro-rehab outpatient centre in Neurotherapy Worx. The centre, based near Wigan, started using the D-Wall at the beginning of the year and went on to include the Prokin 252, WalkerView, and Data Server devices. Clinic owner, Sarah Wilkinson's experience with the advanced motion tracking, analysis, and therapy programs of the D-Wall has led her to adopt additional solutions, such as the Prokin 252 for balance and proprioception, and the Walker View for gait assessment and training. This strategy is designed to motivate patients and supply valuable data to the physiotherapy team, potentially reducing recovery time.
